Handmade Flower Birthday Card

5-petals flower punch medium and small, leaf dies, MFT Flourish die, Spellbinder Flourish Accent die, doily, patterned paper, soft pastel colour, pink and white card stock, watercolour paper

I made these paper flowers using watercolour paper and paper punch in 2 sizes. After punch out the flowers, I coloured them with yellow, pink and light green soft pastel using diy foam tip pen. It's pretty easy to do, no skill required. I misted them with water to soften the paper, crunched and shaped them with modelling tool (the metal round head stylus for modelling cake).

Assembled the flowers, leaves and flourishes on top of pink doily and finished off with tag shape sentiment.

Have A Wonderful Day Tag

image: Sheena Douglas flower clear stamp, sentiment (Crafter's Inspiration #2)
others: Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad, soft pastel, small circle punch, recycle cloth tag, leaf dies

The clear stamps for the image and sentiments are both freebie from Crafter's Inspiration Issue 2 magazine bought in 2014. It has always been inside one of my stamp drawer and never use it. As I was looking into Allsorts Challenge blog asking for 'my lovely garden', I went to search for flower stamp and found this just the suitable size to make a tag.

I stamped the image on watercolour paper and coloured it using Faber Castell watercolour pencils and blended the colour with aquabrush. After that, I fussy cut the image. Cut another piece of white cardstock, coloured the background with yellow, orange and red soft pastels using Nagomi technique (so theraupetic!) and adhere to the tag. Green leaves were diecuts from green cardstock. Shaped the flower with a metal tool for some dimension. Padded the flower with foam tape for extra dimension on the tag. It is fun making this small tag.

      Have A Mice Birthday

Stamp: House Mouse 'Birthday Splash' stamp
Others: Lifestyle Label die, Sizzix flowers die, pearl, trio leaves die, Basic Grey patterned paper, ribbon, water colour pencils, soft pastel

Colour this image with watercolour pencils and diecut with Lifestyle label die. Background paper are from Basic Grey collection, faux stitch with Sakura black micron pen. Embellished the card with die-cut flowers from Sizzix flowers die then coloured the petals using soft pastel. I diecut from watercolour paper and love the effect of the soft pastel, much easier to control the colour compared to using other medium.

Stamped the sentiment on a snippet of white cardstock. I never throw away any leftover cardstock from die-cutting, even if it is only an inch wide as I know it can be used to stamp small sentiment.
