Windmill Christmas Card

Sizzix Winter Words embossing folder, Christmas sentiment embossing folder freebie from craft magazine, scallop square punch, butterfly punch, star punch, snippet of patterned paper

I am playing in the Butterfly Challenge where there is element of using windmill on the card. There is a tutorial on making this windmill on the blog as well and I learned something new today. It's fun indeed to make the windmill,  especially using the scallop square punch and combining different patterned papers. The sentiment was embossed on a white card stock and cut it out, adhered to another piece of red cardstock.

I am participating for the theme (windmill, word, butterfly) and colour (wine=dark red) in the Butterfly Challenge.

Christmas

Stamp: Christmas Tree from Hot Off The Press, a freebie from Simply Cards & Papercraft 102, poinsettia die, MS Snowflake punch, soft pastel, Spellbinder Classic Oval die, Cuttlebug embossing folder

I die-cut an oval shape from white cardstock and then embossed it. Coloured the background using soft pastel on another piece of cardstock and adhered to the back of the embossed cardstock. Stamped the tree stamp and added poinsettia flower and the sentiment which was stamped on snippet of leftover white cardstock.

I am inspired by Judy's (of Double D Challenges DT) card, a technique which I have never tried before. Love the outcome.
