LO - Treasured Memories

patterned paper: MME Stella & Rose, cardstock Bazzil, flower punch

Using my favourite brand patterned paper bought a decade ago. Layout based on Rochelle's December sketch .

Challenges:

Monday, 5 October 2015

L/O: Lil' Dancer

paper: MME (Lucky In Love, Whirly Bird)
card stock : Bazzil, DCWV Glitter pad
others: EK Success circle and scallop circle punch, Prima Edger ink pad, Memory Box Classic Uppercase Alphabet die

Photo of my kid wearing a Punjabi dance costume during his kindy Annual Concert. He managed to complete the dance and seemed to enjoy every bit of it without stage fright.

The layout is done based on My Creative Sketches September Challenge sketch.

Instead of using pennant, I punched out some circles from the patterned paper and adhered to the border. The bubbles in the Scrap Around The World October Mood Board inspired me to incorporate them into my layout.

Challenges:
  1. My Creative Sketches - September sketch
  2. Scrap Around The World - October Mood Board (inspired by the bubbles and a splash of purple and aqua colour here and there)

Have been struggling to make shabby style layout. I adore soft pink on layouts especially so if it was done in shabby style. While doing this, I have to browse through shabby style layout board on Pinterest. Often, I ask myself if is proper to add bling to shabby style layout.
Made this page based on Sketchabilities sketch#141

The roses and the soft pink rosette in Scrap Around The World June Mood Board challenge also inspired me to recreate this layout in soft pink colour theme.

L/O - Free...zing...Yum moment..

materials: MME Whirly Bird (background) and Lucky In Love, TH Tea-Dye distress ink,
Memento Rich Cocoa, bling, staple, wood veneer embellishment, Pelikan Plaka matte paint
Details of distressed paper using TH Tea-Dye distress ink and
 Memento Rich Cocoa.
wood veneer boy embellishment and using
 stationery item ie.staple

after: coloured embellishment with
Pelikan Plaka matte paint
before: wood embellishment

I struggle with making this layout mainly due to colour coordination with the patterned paper. The MME Lucky In Love kit set papers are mostly very 'busy' and I ended up pulling out stacks upon stacks of all my MME papers to find the coordinating colour. I think I spent almost two days for that.

I bought this wood embellishment from a cheap D.I.Y shop and love the simple design. I coloured it with Pelikan Plaka paint which I bought 3 or 4 years ago..(never know why I bought them in the first place besides the reason being they were on highly discounted price during warehouse sale..lol..!)

Picture of my son having his ice-cream which came free with some KFC meal set purchase. He enjoyed it till to the very last drop.

Done this layout based on sketch by Stuk?! Sketches challenge blog

I am participating in the following challenges:
  1. Stuck?! Sketches - 15 June'14 sketch
  2. Frosted Design Friday Challenge - Bingo ( I use the N column - wood veneers, office supply 'staple', word 'Free', distressing, patterned paper background)
