Nagomi Pastel Art

During the current Covid-19 lockdown in our place here, I have the opportunity to learn some free online painting lessons. One of them is painting using soft pastel. I love the outcome of the pastel. I learned step-by-step painting with pastel.  Though the it is usually done in a square card stock, I chose to do it in bookmark form so that I can use it later.

Flower Bookmark

Rubber stamp: vase with flower
Memory Box 'Alphabet Soup' die for the sentiment
soft pastel,  MementoTuxedo Black, colour pencils

I coloured the background using soft pastel, mixing red and blue to get the lilac colour since my soft pastel set does not have this colour. I have to look up in Google for colour mixture.

Created the bubble by rubbing off the background using eraser and circle stencil (which I use 2 sizes of hole punch to punch on paper as stencil).  I learned this  pastel Nagomi technique recently via free online course. Love it.

Stamped the image and coloured with colour pencils, fussy cut and adhere to the bookmark. The sentiment was cut using Memory Box Alphabet Soup dies.

Challenges:
