Stamp: Magnolia 'Mini VikingTilda'
Sentiment : Unity Stamp 'Empowered Word'
Tools: Martha Stewart Frond punch, leaf punch, small flower punch, I Am Roses rose bud, doily, watercolour, Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad

Played with watercolour again. This time, using pink, my favourite colour! The doily was pre-dyed in pink colour too by misting. After I coloured the background of watercolour paper with watercolour, I left it to dry before I stamped the image on another piece of watercolour card stock and use Kuretake aqua brush to colour it. Others: Ink It Up stamp pad, white card

I embossed the white card with the floral butterfly embossing folder, a freebie from craft magazine. Quite easy to make this card actually, no colouring needed. I fussy cut the stamped butterfly and the framed sentiment, adhered onto corrugated paper for some dimension before adhering to the card.

Inking the clear stamp with Memento dye ink did not yield satisfactory result (see below photo) as compare to using Ink It Up stamp pad which cost half the price of Memento.

Sunflower Bookmark

Sunflower rubber stamp, TH distress ink pad  (Tea Dye, Peeled Paint, Mustard Seed ), recycle cloth tag, watercolour

Eversince I participated in a craft challeng with watercolour theme, I have been addicted using watercolour to create bookmark.  I surf the internet looking for watercolour stamping tutorial and saw Anna's (of Layers of Ink blog) tutorial. Love her watercolour stamping, simple and beautiful. I tried to emulate but the result is far from satisfactory as seen here.

I inked the stamp and misted with water, stamped onto watercolour paper. Using an aqua brush, I picked up some darker colour and coloured the centre of the flower. The background was coloured with a combination of distress ink and watercolour.

Challenges:
  1. Ally's Angels - anything goes
  2. Simon Says Monday Challenge - beautiful blooms

Whishing You Brighter Days Card

Stamp: Magnolia
dies: Magnolia Doohickey Cozy Family - Tilda Doily
Flowers: I Am Roses (R1-503,S10-601,R2-4)
Butterfly embossing folder, Copic, Spellbinder Circle die, ribbon flower

I have this Magnolia Doohickey Tilda Doily die which comes in odd semi-circle odd shape. I had no idea how to use it and been keeping it inside cupboard for years. I searched the internet and luckily,  found this Youtube tutorial very helpful indeed. However, it is cumbersome to die-cut twice in order to get the round shape doily and the outcome was not perfect as can been seen on the picture below. The impression of the diecut was not even because of the need to flip over the diecut to cut out the other half of the circle shape.

Challenges:
  1. TOMIC challenge #1 ~ SPRING + at least one Magnolia die
  2. I Am Roses - February challenge ~ anything goes
  3. Allsorts - week 509 Favourite season (mine is Spring)
