It is spring

Materials: Chinese Lanter die, sakura, tiny daisy and butterfly punch, stencil, Tim Holz distress ink pad 'Broken China', blending brush

Made this card using using stencil, dies and punch. The lantern with the intricate longevity knot is an auspicious symbol for the Chinese during Chinese New Year which falls on spring month in Chinese Calendar. The die-cut word is 'Chun' which means spring.

The background was inked using stencil and Tim Holz Broken China distress ink with a blending brush. Oh..so easy peasy with this technique. The colour was smooth and not blotchy. I was struggling previously using Ranger distress foam tool which was always patchy.

Next, punched sakura and tiny daisy flower, inked the edges of the sakura petals with pink colour pencil. The small butterfly was punched out from snippet of glitter patterned paper.

Sending Love

Stamp: House-Mouse Designs 'Celebrate Friends'
Others: soft pastel, Copic, Sending Love die, Recollections black and white cardstock

Another background inking using soft pastel. Such an easy technique for smooth and great result compare to using other mediums. The image was coloured with Copic and fussy cut manually. Die-cut the sentiment from a black cardstock for better contrast of colour against the pastel background.

Challenges:

Another cute mouse stamp from the House-Mouse Designs. I coloured it with Copic and fussy cut manually after that. Inked the background of a white cardstock with soft pastel.
